We went to our first Vogue Knitting Live event in Seattle last weekend. Poor Matt was one of maybe a dozen men, but he toted his camera, took some amazing photos and was a great sport.
Amid all the yummy yarns and fun fiber-fan-girl accessories there were Four Trends that seemed apparent.
Sweaters were slouchy and oversized and looked incredibly cozy, and there were lots of beautiful big and chunky yarns too.
There was lots of texture. Beautiful honeycomb knits, lots of cables, stripes that looked like you could feel them under your fingers -- lovely cushy things that made you want to touch.
There were tons of fun, confetti-like speckled yarns that just put a smile on your face. There's something really HAPPY about the speckles. They remind me of cupcakes with sprinkles.
So. Much. Hand Dyed. Yarn. I LOVE IT. So very pretty. We've been collaborating with indie dyers to produce some exclusive colors just for us -- there are even some speckles. Check out our selection here.
I'm sharing a few more photos of our day here and will also be posting some over time to our Instagram.
Have you been to a Vogue Knitting Live event in your area? Were you at the Seattle show (which actually took place in Bellevue)? We'd love to hear what trends stood out to you.
